Cabela’s North American Bass Circuit Returns To Minnesota’s Lake Minnetonka, Sept. 22
Presented by Cabela’s
Ponca City, Okla.—August 31, 2018—Competitive bass anglers are invited to join the fun when the Cabela’s North American Bass Circuit wraps up its 2018 season on Minnesota’s world-famous Lake Minnetonka Saturday, Sept. 22.
Presented by Cabela’s, the single-day, team format tournament will see the region’s top anglers testing their skills on one of the Midwest’s most revered multi-species bass fisheries.
“Minnetonka is a fitting playing field for the conclusion of another exciting Cabela’s NABC season,” says Tournament Director Jack Baker. “The lake is well-known for producing great bass fishing, and teams will be able to fish a variety of presentations in all types of bass habitat. We expect to see big catches come from deep structure, shallow water and everything in between.”
Along with great fishing and exciting competition in a professionally run setting, the Cabela’s NABC’s proven format rewards anglers with lucrative payouts that include a GUARANTEED first-place prize of $10,000 for any event with 50 teams or more. Plus, the NABC Big Bass Pot, Option Pot and sponsor contingencies including Ranger Cup, Garmin Grand Giveaway and T-H Marine Atlas Awards add thousands more to the total. For example, Michael Walters and Luke Ronnestrand pocketed more than $10,000 in winnings at the Cabela’s NABC’s Sturgeon Bay tournament.
In addition to the regular payout and bonuses, the coveted NABC Team of the Year title will be awarded at the Lake Minnetonka tournament. Shane and Mason Raveling currently lead the race with 294 points for their best three finishes. But Matt Peters and Justin Faulk are hot on their heels with 292 points, and a number of other top teams are still in contention as well.
Competition is fierce, considering that the 2018 NABC Team of the Year will be awarded a minimum $10,000 prize package, including the opportunity to advance to the 2019 National Bass Anglers Association National Championship on Table Rock Lake, to compete for thousands in cash and prizes, including a new Ranger Boat! The second- and third-place NABC teams from the season’s points standings will also be awarded prize packages and opportunities to compete in the NBAA championship.
Bass fans of all ages are invited to catch the excitement at the weigh-in, which begins at 3 p.m. on the shores of Maxwell Bay at 3400 North Shore Dr. in Wayzata. If you can’t make it in person, watch the action live online at northamericanbasscircuit.com.
